The appropriate use of medicinal cannabis for patients, to provide better outcomes is imperative across our nation. Barbara became interested in the use of cannabis many years ago as her respected colleague became involved and opened medicinal dispensaries in Rhode Island. Very early there were conversations re: the state of Pennsylvania and the status of medicinal cannabis as the state moved closer to legalization. In the interim Barbara has pursued extensive research and networking to learn as much as possible and be prepared to work with clients in the future.
Barbara has extensive clinical experience including 6 years as a professor of nursing, teaching Medical/Surgical and Public Nursing. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Health Nursing. Her most recent experience has been as a Certified Wound Care Nurse working in the Corporate world. Barbara joined Universal Hospital Services in early 2010 as a Clinical Solutions Specialist working in the Northeast Division. During her tenure in the division Barbara worked to build relationships with UHS customers and provide them with excellent customer service, clinical knowledge and expertise. Barbara enjoyed success in the territory and received the Eagle Award in 2013. In May of 2013, Barbara moved to the position of Regional Clinical Care Manager. In this role, Barbara has worked to build a team of clinical experts, with a focus on talent, integrity and dedication. The team provided UHS customers and their patients with solutions that provide the best opportunity for optimum health. The team is guided by ethical practice operating with a “Servant’s” Heart. In the past year and a half she has built a strong group of professionals who treat their customers with respect and share solutions that help them do the best for their patients. “Because I Said I Would” is the principal we have adopted with our customers and we have become the Trusted Advisors as we work closely with them. Prior Prior to coming to UHS, Barbara spent six years as an associate professor of nursing focusing on community and medical/surgical nursing. Barbara also spent twelve years at Glaxo SmithKline (GSK) where she worked as both the Occupational Health Nurse caring for the GSK employees, and as the Vaccine Nurse Educator. Barbara managed the Vaccine Information Program speaking nationally on immunology and GSK vaccine
products. Barbara attended Cornell University for her undergraduate work and received her Bachelors and Masters from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. She has additional certificate/board training in Occupational Health and Wound Care. She still resides in Philadelphia with her husband and family.
Rainey is both a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Nurse. With over 21 years of experience in healthcare, she has been extensively trained in Emergency Medicine/Trauma. While spending the greater part of her career within the Emergency Department, from time to time she diversified her settings creating an assorted skill set that is applicable to a wide range of situations and challenges.
Renée has held various leadership positions during her career including: Senior Respiratory Therapist, Nursing Administrator, Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Educator and Clinical Specialist for a major Pharmaceutical Firm. She owns The Maayan Experience LLC, Emergency Department Consulting Service and currently serves as its Principal Consultant.
She is an exceptional and engaging lecturer who has presented both domestically and internationally on topics relevant to both nursing and respiratory therapy.
Renée holds an MBA Degree from Centenary University, School of Professional Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Edison State University as well as a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Essex County College.
Kenneth 'Ken' Wolski (born September 16, 1948) is an American activist from New Jersey and is the executive director of the Coalition for Medical Marijuana - New Jersey and a Registered Nurse. In 2012, Wolski ran for U.S. Senator from New Jersey as the nominee of the Green Party of New Jersey. Kicking off his campaign at the March 2012 convention, Wolski said, "I will campaign to end the influence of corporate money on elected officials, to end the destructive and ineffective War on Drugs, and to ensure free and universal health care for all Americans”.He finished 4th of 11 candidates, receiving 15,801 votes (0.47%).
Wolski is an advocate of marijuana legalization. In November 2015, Wolski testified before a New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in favor of legalization.
Wolski earned a B.A. in Philosophy at Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 1971. He also earned an AAS in nursing from Mercer County Community College in 1976 and MPA from Rutgers University–Newark in 1992.
Jahan Marcu, Ph.D., is currently the Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Auditor for Americans for Safe Access and the Patient Focused Certification (PFC) Program. He is also on the Board of Directors of the International Association for Cannabinoids as Medicine (IACM). He received his Ph.D. for significant contributions to the study of the structure and function of the CB1 receptor, and the role of the endocannabinoid system in bone. Before earning his Ph.D., Dr. Marcu worked at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute studying the anti-cancer properties of compounds from the cannabis plant (Published in the Journal of Molecular Cancer Therapeutics) and on analytical Cannabis research projects in Holland.

Damaris has been a Nurse for 8 years with experience in acute care, rehabilitation, community health and long term care. She is a US Navy Veteran and served in the Global War on Terrorism in the military for almost 6 years. Kristen’s professional experience includes working as a RN for 23 years in pediatrics, med-surg, telemetry, and intensive & coronary care areas; and she is currently a cardiac nurse practitioner. She has also worked as a collegiate adjunct professor and has been a nurse educator for her entire career. He is an expert in adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care. He has extensive knowledge in speaking at conferences locally and nationally. He is the owner of two companies that offer continuing education to health care practioners ( A & T Respiratory Lectures LLC and ATECAM LLC). He has been practicing Ayurvedic medicine for many years and studies under Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D. (Ayu), M.Phil. (Ayu), F.I.I.M. He is currently in a Masters of Science program of the American College of Health Sciences of Portland Oregon and will completed with the program in 2017. Maggie has been a RN for over 29 years with experience in acute care, rehabilitation, community health and long term care. She is board certified in Holistic Nursing. In 2011, Jacqueline suffered a stroke following the passing of her mother. She was trying to balance work, fitness and caring for her mother when the universe struck her down. Being partially paralyzed and having suffered brain damage as a results of tearing her carotid artery, a freak accident done while weight lifting she has miraculously recovered. By using the techniques she practices, her carotid artery which became occluded has since re-canonized. According to her doctor at NYU, this is extremely rare. She is the coordinator of the Complementary & Alternative Medicine Program at Pocono Medical Center and the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center. Jill’s specialty is Stress Management and she has lectured at various venues including the American Cancer Society and ESSA Bank. Her approach to stress management is enjoyable and creative. Kathleen B. Covalt, Ed.D. recently re-located to the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania with her husband and little family of 3 sheep and 3 chickens.
In 1983, Kathleen graduated from the University of Notre Dame, IN with a M.A. in Psychological Counseling. Also in the 1980’s, Kathleen studied with Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., R.N. in the very first Therapeutic Touch course she taught to non-nursing students. Kathleen received her Doctoral Degree in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Transpersonal Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1996. For the past 6 years, Kathleen ran her own emotional healing and spiritual guidance practice out of her home-office.
